Demand Management

There were three key stakeholder groups for this project; the analysts who fulfilled the requests, the leaders of those analysts, and the business partners who submit the requests. I conducted interviews and focus groups to gather input on key requirements from all three groups. The requirements were prioritized according to criticality.

Key Requirements:

  • Track due dates and project status of all requests

  • Allow business partners to enter requests directly into the tool, and also check progress

  • Allow analysts to track both one-time requests, and deliverables they provide on a recurring basis

I designed and built the tool to allow all three groups to interact with it according to the needs of their role. I created a prototype of the tool, and used it to conduct usability testing. The initial design hadn't included automatic notifications for the business partners to be notified that the request was received, so I added that capability to the custom form they would use to enter requests.

The feedback on the tool was that it met the needs of all three groups of stakeholders, and was easy to use.
