Site Design
The purpose of this project was to create a site where business users could access information about the availability of external data acquired by the company.

The process owner was using twelve categories to group the information sources. I conducted an open card sort with a small group of users to test the quality of those categories compared to how users grouped sources. This led to a revision of several category names.
I then used the revised categories to conduct fourteen closed card sorts with key consumers of the external data. This led to an important discovery that they thought about the reason they needed the data when searching for it, rather than the type of data it was.

I reduced the number of categories from twelve to six, which enabled users to accurately find the sources they needed 85% of the time.
